Before purchasing the Aquablast machine from Vixen, Aerotron Composites were manually cleaning parts using hand abrasion to obtain a key. This procedure was very timely and tiring to the user, and so the company set out to find a quicker surface treatment solution.
That’s when they discovered Vixen! Aerotron Composites purchased the Aquablast 1515 model which ensures the specifications are met consistently. This cabinet is the largest out of our standard range and is ideal for processing larger components, with plenty of manoeuvrability.
The 1515 model features four armholes for a two-man operation. The Aquablast uses wet blasting technology of water mixed with abrasive, to blast and degrease a wide variety of components. With the addition of water, this process is completely dust-free.
The advantages of this machine for Aerotron Composites now means they can quickly and evenly key and abrade components, even in the hard to reach areas of the parts they manufacture. This then allows the operators to complete the next steps such as painting, trimming and fitting.
The team who use the Aquablast frequently, have expressed how much quicker this process is compared to hand-abrasion. When the end result is paramount, Aerotron Composites now feel 100% satisfied and have peace of mind that they have successfully and accurately abraded the entire part in confidence.
