Bandeen Motorsports based in Kirriemuir; Scotland chose Vixen to restore Spitfire airplane components!

Colin Bandeen of Bandeen Motorsports has been racing and refurbishing motorcycles for over 40 years, before opening his business North of Dundee and then expanding into the wet blasting industry with Master Blaster- Aqua Blast and Dry Blast Specialists.

He invested in a VM55 dry blasting machine and an Aquablast® 1215 for his Master Blaster business which offer surface treatments to automotive, aviation and watercraft industries.

After trialling the Aquablast® initially on a different set of airplane components, Colin decided that the Aquablast was the right fit for the job.

Vixosheen glass bead was used for this restoration to provide a soft, satin finish without causing any surface damage to the components.

Colin has spoken highly of our blasting cabinets, saying: “We can now offer a great service. It’s fast, it’s clean and it’s environmentally friendly. By the time we have finished the parts come out looking like new. I’m happy and the customers are happy!”

Because of the initial trial, Colin and his team are expecting the rest of the Spitfire airplane parts to arrive soon from the USA for the rest of its restoration. Keep an eye on our social media in the upcoming months to see what is blasted next in this series!
