Previously to purchasing Vixen’s wetblasting cabinet, Bernard tried many finishing techniques, including sand blasting and soda blasting. He found that all of these techniques were unsuccessful in creating an ‘as new’ finish needed to compliment the rest of the restoration work on the vehicles.

Manually operated, Vixen’s Aquablast 915 wetblasting cabinet is particularly effective for creating a satin finish on stainless steel along with a wide range of other metals. The Aquablast range is designed to simultaneously blast and degrease components in a quick and easy dust-free process, which achieves outstanding finishing results on a variety of components.

The key to Vixen’s wetblasting technology is that the finish is produced through flow of water borne abrasive and not by media impact. This helps to create a finer finish due to the lubrication and flushing action of the water during the process. Bernard uses a 100/150 grade glass bead blasting media to remove years of baked on grease, dirt and oxidation from casting and other components, leaving them with a stunning satin shine and finish.

As well as producing the desired finish, the Aquablast 915 has also reduced cleaning times for Bernard, and he is starting to make more money by cleaning parts for other restorers – an additional bonus for a happy customer.
