DC Alloys based in Barnstaple, North Devon is a family run business that was set up by the owner Dan Cox, after he noticed a gap in the market for repairing alloy wheels.
Dan Cox previously worked for a company who sent away alloy wheels to be refurbished and this was when he decided to find a premises in Devon where he could repair diamond cut wheels himself.
Once Dan had found the ideal location, he began searching for the right equipment. That was when he discovered Vixen’s Vertical Wheel Lathe.
The Vixen Vertical Wheel Lathe uses cutting edge technology to reproduce a diamond cut wheel by removing kerb damage and any imperfections. The Vixen Wheel Lathe uses laser probe technology to scan the wheel in under 30 seconds. The machine is also fitted with a Windows operating system, which is user-friendly to operators. The rigid cast bed ensures complete rigidity when processing the wheels and can cut wheels up to 35 inches in diameter.
DC Alloys were put in contact with one of Vixen’s highly trained Sales Engineers, Terry, who arranged for Dan to go and see a Lathe in action.
With Terry’s expertise, the Lathe was delivered and commissioned ahead of schedule before Christmas. With every Wheel Lathe that is purchased, Vixen provide two days on site training to make sure all operators are confident to use the machine on their own. However, this can be achieved in just one day due to the simplicity of the machine.
