Vixen was recommended to Ethiopian Airlines by other aerospace companies and after much research, they decided to contact us directly.
Prior to acquiring their Vixen machine, Ethiopian Airlines used other dry and wetblasting cabinets but these became run down and needed a lot of maintenance and replacement parts.
The Vixen Aquablast machine that they purchased was purely bespoke to their needs, as they worked alongside Vixen's inhouse design team to create the perfect machine for their requirements.
This machine has two blast stations so two operators could use the machine at the same time. The Aquablast Cabinet also features a guillotine door, a cyclone separation system to separate the fines from the good reusable media, a media concentration monitor to enable the operator to periodically check the abrasive mix and a closed loop rinse system so they could freely site the machine within their workshop without it needing to be connected to a mains water supply or drain.
This particular machine also features a boom pipe to rinse the hopper to continually rinse down the media back into the sump.
Dan, one of Vixens highly trained service engineers, visited Ethiopian Airlines in Africa recently to commission their machine and provide all of the operators with the correct training.
“This machine has improved the surface finish, safety, cleanliness levels and ease of use for the operator. Everything from delivery to installation went smoothly and the support from Vixen has been brilliant.
The surface finish is a much higher quality than what we were achieving before and the engine overhaul time has decreased rapidly by over 50%. The methods of changing the media is a lot easier and faster due to the excellent filtration system that is in place on the machine.
We would definitely recommend Vixen every time!”
