Front Loading Tumbler

VIXEN SURFACE TREATMENTS’ FRONT LOADING AQUABLAST TUMBLER MACHINE IS DESIGNED TO FINISH BATCHES OF COMPONENTS THROUGH AN AUTOMATIC WETBLAST PROCESS. AUTOMATIC WET BLASTING MACHINES CAN FREE UP TIME FOR CUSTOMERS AND HELP IMPROVE EFFICIENCY.

The Aquablast front loading tumbler operates using a PLC controller. This controller is programmed with the various functions needed to produce a consistent finish on batches of components. Various drum designs are available as well as rinse options.

The Aquablast/wetblast principle uses a mixture of abrasive and water that is propelled to the blast gun. This ‘slurry’ is then accelerated using compressed air. When the slurry impacts with components to be cleaned, it can lightly degrease (if an additive is used in the water) and also create a uniform finish on the automatically blasted components.

DO I NEED THE MACHINE TO BE CONNECTED TO A WATER SUPPLY OR SITED NEAR A DRAIN?

The machine can be supplied with a closed loop rinse system where the water used for the windscreen wash and rinsing after blasting is simply recycled and filtered in a sedimentation tank sited at the rear of the machine. Periodically this sedimentation tank needs emptying (usually once per week) and refilling with clean water.

I CAN’T SEE A MACHINE SUITABLE/LARGE ENOUGH FOR THE PARTS I NEED TO PROCESS, CAN YOU HELP?

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF WETBLASTING OVER DRY BLASTING?

Wetblasting produces a finer finish than dry blasting and is ideal for the cleaning of more delicate components. The Aquablast machines use a water and abrasive slurry to simultaneously blast and degrease which prevents impregnation of media onto the component. One of the major advantages of wetblasting is that it is a dust free process.

WHAT SIZES OF MACHINE ARE AVAILABLE IN THE AQUABLAST RANGE?

The Aquablast machine comes in three standard sizes: the 915, 1215 and 1515. The size of the customer’s machine is entirely dependable on the application, and Vixen can also manufacture bespoke Aquablast machines to suit different needs.

WHAT IS THE LOAD CAPACITY OF AN AQUABLAST?

The Aquablast’s standard load capacities are: Aquablast 915 – 80-100 kg, Aquablast 1215 – 250 kg and an Aquablast 1515 – 250 kg. Vixen can also design an Aquablast machine for customers who require a larger load capacity. As well as this, trollies are also available to ease loading of larger parts and can be decided upon after further consultations with one of Vixen’s sales engineers.

WILL MY METAL COMPONENTS RUST IF I FINISH THEM USING THE AQUABLAST?

Although the Aquablast machine uses water to blast components, rust inhibitors and other detergents can be added to the application to ensure that metal components do not rust or corrode. Call us today to find out more
