VM36

High performance blast cleaning

Make an enquiry

The VM36 is designed to provide quick, clean and efficient results across a wide range of blast cleaning and treatment applications.

The halogen lighting and high performance cartridge dust collection/filtration system fitted to this model ensures maximum internal visibility, which is vital for yielding first-class results.

A standard Jetair machine uses the suction feed method during the blasting process. Compressed air is used to create a ‘venturi’ effect, where blast air is sucked up through the hopper of the cabinet to the blast gun and then propelled onto the surface of the component. The media then falls back to the hopper and is recycled.

Alternatively, Jetair machines can use a pressure operated blast system which increases the speed of blasting by up to four times and increases efficiency. These pressure pots are available in large and small sizes and are an optional extra in the Jetair range.

Typical applications include:

  • Removal of paint, rust, scale and other similar deposits
  • Surface preparation prior to bonding, re-painting or cosmetic finishes
  • Deburring, peening, deflashing, etching, cleaning
  • Retexturing plastic moulds

Mini Pressure Pot

Mini pressure potAll Vixen blast cabinets are manufactured so that they can be easily converted to a pressure operated blast system at any time without any modification to the machine, stand or pit. It can be fitted in less than 10 minutes. Pressure blasting can increase speed by up to 4 times that of a standard suction system and a wide range of blast media can be used.

The Jetair Cyclone

The Jetair cycloneThe Jetair Cyclone is designed for applications where it is important to exercise a high degree of control over the separation of dust and fine particles, from good re-useable media during the blasting process. It is more important when using fine media, as a dust collector alone will remove the good reusable abrasive. However having a cyclone, before the dust collection system, the separation of dust and abrasive is much more accurate. The benefit long term is less dust or contamination of abrasive, and less running cost as none is wasted.

Gas Assisted Full Front Opening Door

Gas assisted full front opening doorThis feature comes as standard on a VM55 machine but is also available on other models by request.

Trolley and Turntable with External Loading

Trolley and Turntable with External LoadingWhere heavy items are to be processed it is often easier to load these items external to the blast cabinet using an overhead crane or perhaps a fork lift truck. Vixen offer this facility on all the Jetair range with standard and special load capacities where required. The turntable can be moved outside of the chamber, loaded and wheeled back in. In some cases where needed the turntables can be linked to an electric drive inside the cabinet for operator ease.

Large Pressure Pots

Large Pressure potsThe Large Pressure Pot offers the same benefit as the Mini Pressure Pot but gives longer blast cycles without interruption. The Mini Pressure Pot will give 1-2 minutes blasting and then a pause is required of 10s to automatically refill. The Large Pressure Pot can run for 3-5 minutes before a pause of 10-15 seconds is required to automatically refill. The Large Pressure Pot is normally sited on the base of the cyclone or in some cases fitted to the base of the machine which is then elevated on a stand.

Extractor

ExtractorAs standard the Jetair machines are fitted with a compact integral cartridge extraction system. For more dusty applications we offer a range of free standing dust collectors which have great filtration areas and long term consistent performance. These are normally used in conjunction with the cyclone.

Fixed Turntables

Fixed turntablesTurntables are a very popular option. A fixed turntable inside the machine enables easy manoeuvrability of the components to be blasted. These turntables can also be electrically gear driven if required, but in most cases can be manipulated by hand with loads of up to 50kg.
