Jetair Tumbler

VIXEN SURFACE TREATMENTS PRODUCE TUMBLER DRY BLASTING CLEANING CABINETS TO AUTOMATICALLY BLAST CLEAN OR TREAT BATCHES OF SMALL TO MEDIUM-SIZED COMPONENTS. A MAJOR BENEFIT OF USING A TUMBLER IS THAT THEY OFFER A MORE COST-EFFECTIVE ALTERNATIVE TO USING A HAND BLAST CABINET. COMPONENTS ARE LOADED INTO THE DRUM WHERE THEY ARE SLOWLY TUMBLED UNDER A STREAM OF MEDIA WHICH IS DELIVERED BY ADJUSTABLE BLAST GUNS.

The Tumbler range can be operated with a wide range of blast media, including plastics, vegetable matter, glass bead and alumina. Chilled iron grit and steel shot may also be used in pressure-fed systems.

At the end of each timed cycle, the drum continues to rotate to remove media from the components and the drum. At the same time, air wash guns are brought into operation to help remove any last traces of dust or media. Parts may be removed either manually from the drum or via a discharge chute, which is available as an optional extra.

Tumblers are yet another way that Vixen Surface Treatments can help you in the dry blasting cleaning of your components.

  • Operates with a wide range of blast media including plastics, vegetable matter, glass bead and alumina.

WHAT SORT OF EXTRACTION IS SUPPLIED AS STANDARD/DO I NEED FOR A JETAIR CABINET?

The Jetair blast cabinets are fitted as standard with twin cartridge integral dust extraction. Depending on whether the machine is a suction or pressure system and what media is being used we may recommend you upgrade to a separate extraction unit, perhaps with a media cyclone reclamator. Our sales team will be able to advise the best extraction for your application.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF A PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER A SUCTION SYSTEM?

With a pressure blast system the media is stored in the pressure vessel rather than the hopper (suction system). When the foot pedal is depressed the vessel is pressurised and the media is forced up to the blast gun via a media mixture control valve and a heavy duty blast hose. Pressure blasting can increase speed by up to 4 times that of a standard suction system.
