Electrical

The Electrical industry is one of the largest industries in the world

All around the globe billions of people rely on the electrical industry to carry out everyday tasks making the industry worth billions of pounds.

The electrical industry is not very specific; it is a wide range of many different sectors which Vixen has supplied numerous machines from across their entire product range. One of Vixen’s customers manufacture and supply electric fly traps which have a plastic casing to cover over the light. They purchased one of Vixen’s dry blasting cabinets, the VM42, from the Jetair range to blast clean the casings using high pressure mixed with abrasive to create the desired effect, which in this case was to dull the plastic down to create an opaque finish.

The dry blast range is designed to provide quick, clean and efficient results across a wide range of blast cleaning and blast treatment applications. One of the main features of the Jetair range is the high performance dust collection system fitted to the machine. This ensures maximum internal visibility which is the key to obtaining first class results.

The Jetwash range is also a popular machine purchased within this industry sector to wash and degrease electrical equipment such as crimpers and spanners. The Jetwash range has both top loading and front loading machines to accommodate all sizes of components. The top loading machines are the smaller machines which are more popular within the electrical industry as the tools aren’t large and can be easily loaded into the basket which remains static during the wash process to prevent component damage.

The Jetwash range of machines is designed to wash and degrease components automatically using hot water and detergent via a rotating boom which revolves around the stationary basket.  These machines have a double stainless steel skin construction with 28mm of insulation cavity. This machine is also used for the processing of tool handles before applying the plastic covers. This allows for better gripping and installation of the plastic.

Another popular machine with companies in the electrical industry is the Aquablast wet blasting machine. This particular machine is used by ACtronics in Essex who use the Aquablast 915 to process electrical automotive components. They purchased this machine to create the desired high quality finish on their electrical components. The wet blasting process is produced through the flow of water borne abrasive and not by media impact. This ensures no media impregnation on the part, and creates a softer surface finish due to the lubrication.

ACtronics Ltd said “Having recently purchased the Aquablast 915, we are pleased with the impact it has had upon our work.” – Christian Planting – Technical Manager – ACtronics Ltd

The Vixen Tristar range is also used within the electrical industry to wash and degrease small electrical fittings for plugs and contactors etc. This machine as standard comes with 3 stages including, immersion, wash and dry stages. The main benefit of the Tristar machine for this process is it automatically transfers the parts through the wash and dry processes which means it is fully automated once the parts are loaded.
